SatSpy and Windows 3.1x
SatSpy 4.0 is a 32-bit application that was developed using
Delphi 4.0 running under Windows 95 and Windows 98. SatSpy 4.0
will not run under Windows 3.1x.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
4.0 Installing/Uninstalling SatSpy
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Note to V3.0 and earlier Users: Version 4.0 installs into
a new directory. You do not have to install Version 4.0 over
Version 3.0. If you choose to install SatSpy 3.0 into the
same directory as Version 3.0, you should delete Version 3.0
first. As always, you should backup Version 3.0 before
deleting in case you run into problems.

To install SatSpy, run the SETUP.EXE program which comes in the
downloaded SATSPY.ZIP file or on the delivery diskettes. You can
run SETUP.EXE from the Windows Explorer, from the Run command on
the Start button or from the Add/Remove Programs applet under the
Control Panel. To use this option, select Settings then Control
Panel from the Windows Start button. Then double click on the
Add/Remove Programs icon. Select Install/Uninstall tab and then
click on the Install button. If you are installing from a
diskette, be sure that disk 1 is in your floppy drive. If you
are installing from the zip file, use the browse button to find
the SETUP.EXE file. In either case, run SETUP.EXE and then
follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

To remove SatSpy from your, go to the Add/Remove Programs applet
from the Control Panel. Find SatSpy Version 4.0 in the list of
installed applications and select it using the mouse. Then
click on the Add/Remove button and click OK on the dialog asking
if you are sure that you want to remove SatSpy. After that, the
SatSpy uninstall program will completely remove it from your
system. If you are unable to uninstall SatSpy using this procedure,
you can also uninstall SatSpy manually. First, delete the entire
folder containing the SatSpy delivery files. Then, go to Start
and select Settings followed by Taskbar. Go the Start Menu
Programs tab and click on the Advanced button. Find SatSpy under
Programs and delete the entry.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
5.0 About the Element Set Files
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Since element sets gradually degrade over time, you need to
check the delivery element sets for age before using them. When
you load new elsets, SatSpy automatically computes their average
age. If the average age is greater than 21 days, you will see a
warning dialog box upon startup. You can still use the element
sets within SatSpy, but the predictions that you make may not be
good enough for viewing the actual satellites. In this case,
you need to obtain new elsets as described in detail in both
the User's Manual and the on-line help.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
6.0 Tips and Hints
-----------------------------------------------------------------
SatSpy is highly graphical and interactive in nature. It uses
the mouse extensively to obtain additional information from the
plots.

 - Use the left mouse button to click on stars, planets and
satellite skytrace points to find their identity.

 - Use the right mouse button to bring up a popup menu
with commands specific to that window.

 - If you hold the cursor over any of the buttons in the
toolbar for a moment, you will get a pop-up window telling
   you what the button does.

 - The status bar on the bottom on the frame window has a hints
line that tells you what each of the menu items do.

 - Extensive on-line help is available from any window by
clicking on the "?" button in the toolbar or by pressing
   the F1 key.

 - For more, see Tips and Tricks in the on-line help.
